Description
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of recent ICU experience, including neuro or cardiovascular specialties. This position is critical for ensuring the highest standards of nursing and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Administer medication, monitor vital signs, and manage patient care plans effectively.
- Titrate drips as required, including Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, and other common medications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and deliver quality care.
- Participate in the assessment and evaluation of patient conditions, ensuring immediate intervention when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and progress.
- Prepare for and attend required orientation and training sessions to stay updated with the latest practices.
Qualifications
- Must possess a current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
- ACLS, BLS Certification, and NIHSS required.
- A minimum of three years of recent ICU experience, with a focus on neuro or cardiovascular care preferred.
- Ability to interpret cardiac strips and assess patients effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Schedule and Availability
Available shifts require working days with the possibility of weekends and holiday shifts as per unit needs. The schedule may include three weekend shifts per month and opportunities for self-scheduling based on unit requirements.
Additional Information
RNs will float between various critical care units, including Medical ICU and Surgical ICU, and must be prepared to validate skills for trauma and specialty devices as needed. A dysrhythmia exam and successful completion of a simulation lab are mandatory prior to acceptance.
The scrub color for this position is navy blue.
