Unit Information
The position is located within a specialized ICU unit that provides care for adult patients with varying acuity levels. The unit features:
- Number of Beds: 6
- Patient Ratios: Varies on Acuity
- Staffing Description: Charge Nurse, RNs, Nurse Externs, Paramedics
- Type of Equipment: Alaris IV Pumps, Hill-Rom beds, GE Cardiac monitoring equipment
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling Requirements: 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week scheduling period
- Floating Policy: Float to similar units (ICU/PCU/CCU) as needed
General Information
This facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center, verified for trauma, stroke, and cardiac care. The ideal candidate will be expected to uphold the unit's mission and values, treating every patient with courtesy and respect.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
- Experience with ICU level of care
- Preferred burn experience
- BLS, ACLS, TNCC certified
- Cardiac rhythm proficiency
Advanced skills include:
- NIH Certification
- CRRT training
- Hemodynamic monitoring and drip titration
- ABLS certification is preferred
Procedures Performed on Unit
The unit is equipped to perform various procedures such as:
- Debridement
- Dressing changes
- Line insertion
- Chest tube insertions and maintenance
- Post-operative procedural care
Additional Information
This unit has a strong multidisciplinary model that includes a dedicated burn surgeon, nurse practitioner, intensivist, rehab specialists, dietary, pharmacists, and case management. The environment promotes teamwork and presents opportunities to collaborate with an experienced staff within a supportive atmosphere.
- Access to a hyperbaric chamber with a dedicated trained hyperbaric RN
- 24/7 critical care intensivists available
- Use of mobile phones for communication with providers and staff
- Virtual admission nurses
- Discharge lounge available for patients
Dress Code
The required uniform consists of:
- Navy blue scrub top and navy blue or black scrub pants
- Scrub jacket
- No t-shirts, hoodies, or sweatshirts allowed

This MRI department is amazing! The nurses there are awesome! My experience there was exceptional! The patient care was outstanding!!
Cons
The pay was the only thing that was lacking. But that is what it was! No regrets about working there! Also the housing situation was not great. But that has nothing to do with the facility!
