Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Description

The Labor and Delivery Unit is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel position. This role is essential in providing care to patients during labor and delivery, ensuring both maternal and neonatal safety and comfort.

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 9 Labor/Delivery Rooms, 3 Operating Rooms, 4 Bed PACU, 4 Bed OBED, 2 Antepartum Rooms
  • Number of Staff: 38
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1-2

Staffing and Equipment

  • Type of Staff:
    • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4-6 Labor and Delivery RNs, 1 Transition RN, 1 OR Technician, 1 Unit Secretary
    • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4-5 Labor and Delivery RNs, 1 Transition RN, 1 OR Technician
  • Type of Equipment: Specialized equipment utilized for labor and delivery
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech/CPN

Qualifications

  • Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
  • Preferred Skills:
    • C-EFM Certification
    • Bilingual in Spanish

Typical Procedures

  • Management of laboring patients
  • Circulating for Cesarean Sections

Personality Fit

The ideal candidate is outgoing and collaborative, with a willingness to work effectively with colleagues and healthcare providers.

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Floating Areas

  • Postpartum

Dress Code

Scrub Color: Royal Blue

Schedule Requirements

Weekend shifts are required, with four weekend shifts in a four-week schedule.
