Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our hybrid unit, which encompasses a mix of step-down and telemetry/med-surg patients. This role will primarily focus on our 28-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) with a cardiac population.
Unit Information
- 28-bed PCU/IMCU specializing in cardiac care
- Patient Population: STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiac surgery (CTS), and chest pain (C/P)
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3-4
- Dynamic role involving care of higher acuity patients as well as telemetry patients with lower acuity levels
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessment and care for cardiac patients
- Administer cardiac drips including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and pressors
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and care plans
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a similar-sized facility
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
