Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse with extensive experience in Neuro care. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively within a healthcare team to deliver excellent service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals with medical/surgical conditions, including neuro-related issues.
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Document patient information accurately and timely in accordance with facility protocols.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist in patient education regarding health management and discharge plans.
• Float to other medical/surgical units as necessary, based on patient care needs.

Schedule Details

• Shift: 12 hours, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As needed

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical/Surgical RN and 2 years of Neuro unit experience required. Preference for candidates with 4+ years of experience in both areas.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system is essential.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred but not required.
• New graduates will not be considered for this position.

Contract Length

This position is contracted for a duration of 12 weeks.
