Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
Work Schedule
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Primarily 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- No call or holiday shifts required
- Available locations: Sawgrass and Marketplace (Miracle Mile)
Key Responsibilities
- Verify patients' identity and review physicians’ orders prior to x-ray procedures.
- Utilize x-ray equipment to capture high-quality images of bones, tissues, and organs in accordance with physician orders.
- Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address any questions they may have.
- Properly position patients for imaging, which may include assisting those with limited mobility.
- Ensure safe use and handling of radiologic equipment to minimize patient exposure to radiation.
- Monitor patients' conditions during procedures and interpret information to address age-specific needs.
- Produce diagnostic-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
- Promptly report any issues with x-ray equipment to management.
- Use electronic patient information systems to validate patient details and special exam requirements, adhering to dual patient identifier protocols.
- Maintain accurate records by properly identifying images and ensuring correct submission to the PACS system.
Qualifications
- Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- Active certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- New York State license or eligibility to obtain a license prior to starting.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.
- Comfortable working in the operating room and handling some portable imaging equipment.
- Ability to lift and move patients as needed.
- Capability of standing for extended periods of time.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated patient-care orientation and compassion.
- Team player committed to fostering a collaborative work environment.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience using c-arm/o-arm devices within the last 8 months.
