Description
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing x-ray imaging procedures and ensuring the highest quality of care for patients. Our work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with a standard shift from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Verify patients' identity and review physicians’ orders before initiating x-ray procedures.
- Utilize x-ray equipment to produce radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physician instructions.
- Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address any queries they may have.
- Position patients for imaging, which may require lifting or moving patients with limited mobility.
- Handle radiologic equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring the lowest possible dose to patients.
- Monitor each patient's status and interpret information relevant to their age-specific needs.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation.
- Promptly notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
- Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient details and exam requirements, following the Dual Patient Identifier procedure.
- Maintain accurate patient records by properly identifying images and ensuring correct image transmission to the PACS system.
Requirements
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Valid NYS license or the ability to obtain one before starting.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.
- Comfortable working in the operating room and with portable equipment.
- Ability to move or lift patients as needed.
- Capability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- A patient and compassionate demeanor.
- Team player who fosters a cohesive working environment.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience with c-arm/o-arm within the past 8 months.
Location
This position offers opportunities at multiple locations within the region, specifically in Sawgrass and Marketplace (Miracle Mile).
