Description
Job Description
The CT Technologist is responsible for performing advanced imaging procedures, particularly computed tomography (CT) scans, while ensuring high standards of patient care and safety. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with medical staff and patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans as per physician orders, ensuring the highest quality images are obtained.
- Provide exceptional patient care, addressing any concerns and maintaining comfort during procedures.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly; report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and radiation protection standards.
- Coordinate with radiologists and other medical personnel to discuss imaging findings.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology is preferred.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) or R.T. (R)(ARRT) is required.
- Radiologic Technologist (RT) licensure in the state of practice is required (California).
- Advanced Certification in CT is required in Oregon and Hawaii, preferred in California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per organizational policy is required.
- Fluoroscopy license may be required in California if operating fluoroscopy equipment.
- Venipuncture certification is required in California if performing venipuncture to administer contrast materials.
Work Environment
This position requires availability for night shifts and may involve working in various locations within the region.
