Description
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med/Surge Telemetry unit is responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating patient care under the direction of licensed physicians. The RN will utilize nursing principles, theories, and current methods to provide individualized care, collaborating with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' needs and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
- Evaluate and update care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and the patient's family.
- Direct nursing support staff in the delivery of patient care in compliance with nursing standards and departmental policies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical specialty (preferred).
- Current PA Registered Nurse License (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- ACLS, stroke, and telemetry certification (required).
- Multi-State Compact RN License (required).
Additional Information
No requests for time off (RTO) can be accommodated during the initial period of employment.
