Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This position is based in Kansas City, MO, offering the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care within a specialized unit.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 23
• Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:5
• Unit Staffing: Includes Unit Secretary and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Equipment Used: Traction, fixators, cooling equipment
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 shifts of 12 hours and 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• Floating Policy: Contract labor is first to float to other medical-surgical level care units
• Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report and hourly rounding

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • Current RN license
  • BLS certification
  • Ortho experience
  • Telemetry experience
  • NIH Stroke Scale knowledge
• Procedures Performed on Unit:
  • Post-operative care for knee, hip, and shoulder replacements
  • Trauma patient care
  • Some neuro overflow management

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy scrubs
