Position Overview

This is a seasonal nursing opportunity in a specialized orthopedic and trauma unit. The role requires an engaged and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 23
• Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:5
• Unit Staffing: Includes unit secretaries and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Floating Policy: Contract labor is the first to float, with potential floating to other MedSurg units.
• Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report, hourly rounding
• Certifications: Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center

Scheduling Requirements

• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• 3 weekend shifts in each scheduling period

Qualifications

• Required: RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Preferred Skills: Experience in orthopedics, telemetry, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Typical Procedures: Post-operative care for knee, hip, and shoulder replacements; trauma patients; some neuro overflow patients.

Dress Code

Required uniform is navy scrubs.
