Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a fast-paced Neuro ICU environment. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a 32-bed unit, managing a diverse range of critical patients with complex needs.
Job Details:
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours guaranteed with an option for additional shifts
- Start Date: 11/30
- Schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, with every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
Unit Specifics:
- Patient Ratios: 2:1
- Staffing Description: Unit Secretary available from 7:30 AM to 12:00 AM
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Patient Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, preferably in a similar setting
Qualifications:
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Preferred Certifications: TNCC (not required)
Required Skills:
- Trauma patient management
- IV administration of vasoactive medications
- Ventilator management
- Chest tube management
- Care of post-operative surgical patients
- Cardiac rhythm identification and management
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Care of stroke patients
Advanced Skills Needed:
- Hemodynamic and ventilator management
Procedures Performed on Unit:
- Chest tube placement
- Ventriculostomy
- Moderate sedation
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Therapeutic hypothermia
- ECMO
- Arterial and central line placement
Dress Code:
The required uniform consists of:
- Top: Navy scrub top (no t-shirts)
- Bottoms: Navy or black scrub bottoms
- Jackets: Navy, white, or black (solid colors)
- Undershirts: Navy, white, or black (solid colors)
Awards and Recognition:
- Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Level 1 Trauma Center
Additional Information:
This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced technologies and equipment in a collaborative environment with a tenured and experienced staff. The unit is equipped with 16 beds and focuses on delivering exceptional patient care.

The pay was the only thing that was lacking. But that is what it was! No regrets about working there! Also the housing situation was not great. But that has nothing to do with the facility!
