Job Overview

This position offers a guaranteed 48-hour work week with a start date of November 30. The role is located in Kansas City, Missouri, within a unit focused on Ortho/Trauma care.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 23
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
• Unit Staffing Description: Unit Secretary and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available
• Type of Equipment: Traction, fixators, cooling equipment
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Three 12-hour shifts and three weekend shifts per schedule period
• Floating Policy: Contract labor will float first to other Medical-Surgical level of care units
• Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report and hourly rounding

Hospital Specifics

• Certifications: Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center

Qualifications

• Must Have: Active RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Skills Needed: Orthopedic experience, Telemetry skills, NIH Stroke Scale knowledge

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Post-operative knee, hip, and shoulder replacements
• Care for trauma patients
• Some overflow from Neuro patients

Dress Code

Required uniform is navy scrubs.
