Unit Information

The unit consists of 40 beds and is supported by a staff of approximately 40 employees. The team includes:

• Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 7 nurses, 5 patient care technicians (PCTs)
• Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 7 nurses, 4 patient care technicians (PCTs)

Patient ratios are maintained at 1:6 to ensure quality care. The unit is equipped with advanced medical technology including wound vacs, Kangaroo pumps, and telemetry monitoring systems. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used is Meditech.

As a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a supportive team atmosphere.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 1 year of recent hospital Med/Surg experience
• Current BLS certification

Preferred:

• Experience managing care for at least 6 patients
• Strong time management skills

Typical Procedures

Common medical procedures performed on this unit include:

• Wound care
• CIWA assessments
• Heparin drips
