Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 108
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 – 1:4
• Unit Staffing Description: Staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and Nurse Externs
• Type of Equipment: Nasal Cannula, Bubble CPAP, Ventilators, Oscillators, IV Pumps, NIRS, Warmers, Isolettes
• Documentation System: CPN, Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 3-12 hour shifts per week, rotating weekends, holidays
• Floating Policy: Contract staff float before regular staff to areas including PICU, Pediatrics, and CICU. Care for patients under 2 years
• Patient Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year Level III experience
• Certifications: NRP, BLS

Position Requirements

• Requested Skill Set: Experience with surgical and cardiac patients, care for infants under 27 weeks, management of tracheostomy patients, and experience with Broviac catheters.
• Must Have: Experience with preemies (28 weeks and above), management of central lines, and respiratory management up to and including intubated patients.
• Advanced Skills Needed: Proficient in critical care procedures.
• Procedures Performed on Unit: Central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laparotomies, gastroschisis reductions, PDA ligations.

Dress Code

Required uniform: Royal blue scrubs
