Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Medical Surgical (Med Surg) unit. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population with various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with conditions such as heart failure (CHF), pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations, and other general medical-surgical needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and reports any significant changes to the medical team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and provide patient education.
• Assist with coordination of patient care across different acuity levels including floating as needed.

Unit Information

Unit Type: Medical Surgical (Med Surg)

Number of Beds: 37

Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 during days and 1:5-6 during nights

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Experience in acute care nursing is preferred.
• Proficient in reading telemetry strips; competency in managing moderate oxygen needs.

Work Schedule

This position involves night shifts with 6-9 weekend shifts required over a 6-week schedule. Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are available.

Candidates are expected to commit to weekend and holiday shifts as necessary to maintain unit staffing needs.

Additional Information

Registered Nurses may be asked to float to other units based on departmental needs. Orientation will be conducted in-state, and all clinicians must be present for the orientation week.

Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue.
