Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Labor and Delivery to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
General Information
- Location: Nashville, TN
- Unit Name: Labor & Delivery
- Number of Beds: 12
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
- Unit Staffing: RNs, unit secretary, OR techs
- Documentation System: CPN, Meditach
- Scheduling Requirements: 3 weekend shifts, 1 call shift for RNs, 2 call shifts for techs, 3 12-hour shifts
- Floating Policy: Travelers float first
- Patient Experience Requirements: Shared decision making
Certifications
Required certifications for RNs include:
- NRP
- ACLS
- BLS
- AWHONN Intermediate or CEFM
Hiring Profile
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Advanced skills in care of the laboring patient
- Care of the newborn immediately after delivery
- Circulating and recovering cesarean section patients
Unit Specifics
The Labor & Delivery unit handles a variety of procedures including:
- Vaginal deliveries
- C-sections
- D&C
- Cerclage
- Epidural anesthesia
- Tubal labor
Dress Code
Scrubs are not provided by the facility. Required colors are ceil blue, navy blue, or gray.
