- Emergency Department: Level III Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Number of Beds: 54
- Average Patients per Day: 75+
- Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:4
- Fast Track: Yes
- Triage Area: Yes, with participation expected from all staff
- Holding Area: Separate holding area available
- Psych & Seclusion Rooms: Yes
- Security: In-house and available 24/7
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department.
- Administer medications and manage patient drips, including cardiac, antihypertensive, and sedation medications.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and mid-level providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in departmental activities and adhere to all clinical protocols.
- Assist with the triage process and urgent patient assessments.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS.
- Strong clinical skills and proficient in managing various acute medical conditions.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Shifts & Scheduling
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available.
- Weekend and holiday requirements align with departmental needs.
- Floating requirements will be determined by departmental needs.
Dress Code
The standard scrub color for this department is navy blue.
Orientation
Comprehensive unit-specific orientation will be provided during the first week of employment.
