Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role requires a strong clinical background and critical thinking skills to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Scheduled Details

• 12-hour Night Shifts
• Shifts from 1900 to 0730
• 3 shifts per week

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department
• Proficiency in using BiPAP, managing chest tubes, PICC lines, and performing lab draws independently
• Experience in conducting patient codes and calling for consults without the assistance of a vascular access team
• Preferred experience with open-heart patients on post-operative day 2 or 3, including management of pacer wires
• Patient ratios typically maintained at 3:1 or 4:1

License and Certification Requirements

• Current Kansas RN or Compact RN License
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications

Floating Requirements

The RN will be expected to float to the ICU and other inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and Emergency Department, given prior experience in these areas.

Weekend Requirements

Available to work every other weekend.

Holiday Availability

Must be willing to work during holidays based on unit needs.

Orientation Requirements

Orientation schedule includes:

• First two days at the KUKC Campus
• Day three: Olathe orientation and Director of Nursing training
• Day four: Olathe Director of Nursing training
• Day five: Virtual Epic training

About the Facility

This facility is a nicotine-free environment and utilizes EPIC as their current Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. A non-billable orientation period of 8 hours is required.

Payment Schedule

Employees are paid bi-weekly, with a policy that allows for client cancellation of one shift per 2-week pay period at no cost to the client or employee, provided a minimum of 2 hours’ notice is given.
