Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong Med/Surg experience and the ability to prioritize patient care while multitasking effectively.

Unit Information

• Location: Nashville, TN
• Unit Name: 6th, Post-Op Med/Surg
• Number of Beds: 34
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Unit Staffing: Tech support available on both day and night shifts; unit secretary from 7 AM to 7 PM
• Type of Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Oximetry, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG Machines, Bladder Scanner, iMobile Communication Technology
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Three 12-hour shifts per week, including two weekend shifts (four shifts total) in a four-week schedule
• Floating Policy: Contract labor will float first; rotation will be used when there are multiple contract staff scheduled

Patient Experience Requirements

All nurses are expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and their families. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to conduct bedside shift reports, make personal connections with patients, and include both patients and family members in their plan of care.

Qualifications

• Required: Active RN License
• Required: BLS Certification
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Med/Surg nursing
• Skills: Ability to start IVs, provide basic wound care, maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes

Dress Code

Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) are required while on duty.
