Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, where you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
Shift Details
- Shift Type: Nights
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirements: 6-9 weekends in a 6-week schedule
- Floating: May float within Zone 1 in case of extreme need
Responsibilities
As an Emergency Room Nurse, your duties will include:
- Providing direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency environment.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care.
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Managing patient triage and prioritizing care based on clinical need.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitoring patients’ conditions and making clinical decisions accordingly.
- Maintaining detailed patient records and documentation.
Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- ENPC or PALS
- NIHSS
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Experience with TNCC and NIHSS is preferred.
Unit Information
The Emergency Department consists of:
- Trauma Level: IV
- Number of Beds: 15
- Trauma Bays: 2
- Average Daily Patient Volume: 35+
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4
Common Diagnoses
Patients typically present with a variety of conditions, including:
- Abdominal Pain
- Chest Pain
- Fever
- Cough
- Dyspnea
- Headaches
- Injuries
- Extremity Pain
Additional Information
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed.
- Security personnel are present in-house 24/7.
- Dedicated Psych/seclusion rooms are available.
- Navy Blue scrubs are required as part of the dress code.
