Description
We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Nurse to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent decision-making abilities, and the capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Shift: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years
- Orientation: Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation, even if first-day modules are remote.
- Location: City, State (within a 60-mile radius)
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
- Trauma Level: Level IV
- Beds/Trauma Bays: 15 beds, 2 trauma bays
- Fast Track: Yes
- Triage Area: Yes, and travelers are allowed to perform triage.
- Psych/Seclusion Rooms: Yes
- Security: In-house 24/7, located in the ER
- Patient Volume: Average of 35+ patients per day
- Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:4
Qualifications
The following certifications are required:
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- PALS or ENPC
- NIHSS
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Experience and Skills
- Experience with common diagnoses including abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, and extremity pain.
- Must have TNCC and NIHSS.
- Ability to manage common medication drips such as cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia.
Additional Information
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed.
- Weekend commitments: Nurses are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts within a six-week schedule, aligned with department needs.
- Holiday requirements apply.
- Floating requirements may be determined by nursing management; floating within Zone 1 may be necessary in extreme circumstances.
- Scrub color and dress code: Navy Blue.
- Unit-specific orientation dates and locations will be assigned during the orientation week.
