Job Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical care, focusing on the management of stroke stepdown patients.
Unit Information:
- Unit Type: Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown
- Common Diagnoses: Stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation, general medical-surgical conditions, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues.
- Patient Demographics: Adults
- Number of Beds: 64
- Specialty Equipment: IV pumps, N/G tubes, feeding tubes
Shift Information:
Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Block scheduling is not guaranteed)
Floating: Required
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience
- Current AHA BLS Certification
- NIHSS Certification (can be obtained prior to start)
- Active NY License and all other active RN licenses must be verified via NURSYS report
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically EPIC, is preferred
