Job Description
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team. This position involves providing critical care to patients transitioning from intensive care, focusing on a variety of diagnoses.
Unit Information
- Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
- Number of Beds: 64 beds with 15 designated Neuro beds
- Common Diagnoses: Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory conditions including COPD, DKA, Sepsis, Myocardial Infarction (MI), and post-operative care.
- Specialty Equipment: Temp pacer, Chest tubes, A-lines, BiPAP, Neptune Vapo.
- Ventilator Support: Chronic vents with difficulty weaning, with Respiratory Therapy assistance available.
- Patient Demographics: Adults aged 18 years and older.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care or Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
- Proficiency in the use of EPIC electronic medical records.
- Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Active New York Registered Nurse license and others as applicable.
- Driver's license with an address matching demographic information.
- Floating may be required within the unit.
Shift Information
- Shift Hours: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
