Shift Information
Anticipated schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off. Night shifts from 6 PM to 6 AM.
Position Overview
This is a temporary position for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) primarily working during the night shift. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care for a diverse range of individuals, from post-partum neonates to geriatric patients in a medical-surgical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical department.
- Manage patient needs across various levels of acuity including medical, surgical, rehabilitative, skilled, and pediatric care.
- Participate in post-partum and infusion/wound therapy care, along with cross-training opportunities in emergency and post-anesthesia care units.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Utah or a compact state.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications are required or must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Willingness to earn NRP certification and provide patient care appropriate to certification within one year of hire.
- Strong knowledge of infection control principles and patient safety techniques.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to manage sensitive information professionally and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism.
- Reliable and punctual with work schedules.
- Flexibility and willingness to accept additional duties as assigned.
