Registered Nurse (RN) - Invasive Cardiology

Job Description

The Invasive Cardiology RN will be responsible for providing care to critically ill patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab during Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular procedures. This role includes being assigned to STEMI call with a required 30-minute response time.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures.
• Monitor patients' conditions preoperatively and postoperatively.
• Administer sedation and monitor patients during procedures.
• Utilize advanced hemodynamic monitoring techniques, including IABP and IMPELLA.
• Manage ventilator settings as needed.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Must possess catheterization laboratory experience.
• Demonstrated skills in preoperative and postoperative patient care.
• Experience in monitoring and sedation of patients.
• Proficient in advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Experience with ventilator management is required.

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Valid RN licensure in the state of Ohio.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Physical Environment

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the day. The nurse must be able to stand for extended periods, and have normal vision and hearing ranges with or without correction. Physical requirements include:

• Ability to lift 250-300 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to push/pull up to 500 lbs. with assistance.
• Exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
• Exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.

Shift Information

Shifts may vary, with possibilities including 0630-1730, 0700-1730, or 0800-1830. Holiday coverage and on-call shifts will be assigned by unit rotation, with a minimum callback for STEMI of 4 hours.

Holiday Coverage

Availability for holiday coverage is required.

Experience Requirement

A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.
