Description

Emergency Room Nurse

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Room Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients during their time in the Emergency Department (ED). The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced medical surgical environment, with a commitment to patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer direct patient care and support to individuals in the emergency department.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient assessments and interventions.
  • Maintain knowledge of and competency in the use of emergency department equipment and procedures.
  • Float to other areas as needed, based on demand and staffing requirements.
  • Participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling in alignment with department needs.

Shift Details

  • Night shifts, with an expectation of 6-9 weekend shifts per six-week schedule.
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
  • Orientation and training provided for new team members.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in a medical/surgical setting.
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Patient Care Environment

  • Average of 10+ patients treated in the ED daily.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
  • Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, and injuries.

Additional Information

  • Flexible in adapting to changing patient care needs and environments.
  • Participation required in weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Professional attire: Navy blue scrubs.
