Unit Information
Number of Beds: 14
Number of Staff: 26
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 RNs
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 RNs
Patient Ratios: Generally 2:1
Type of Equipment: Vents, pumps, Swans, CRRT, Chest Tubes, and occasionally Balloon pumps and Impellas
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess hemodynamic status
- Perform Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Manage Intracranial Pressure (ICP) and External Ventricular Drains (EVD)
- Oversee ventilator management and proning procedures
- Conduct thoracentesis and tracheostomy care
- Experience with Nitric Oxide management
- Utilize Meditech for charting
- Assist in Swan-Ganz catheter placement and pacemaker management
- Facilitate hemodialysis and central line setup/insertion
- Administer Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and Peripheral Parenteral Nutrition (PPN)
- Manage chest tube placements and monitoring
- Perform central line placement and intubation as necessary
Qualifications
- Must have ICU nursing experience
- Knowledge of pressure drips
- Positive attitude and a proactive approach to nursing care
Required Certifications
- Current RN License
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
Work Schedule
Every other weekend commitment required.
Dress Code
Scrub Color/Attire: Navy Blue
Floating Area(s)
Potential to float to Intermediate Care Units (IMC) and Progressive Care Units (PCU).
