Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with extensive experience in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional surgical support and patient care.

Unit Information

• Unit Name: CVOR
• Number of Operating Rooms: 6
• Patient Ratios: Each case requires 1 scrub and 1 circulator, with additional personnel for pump cases.
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Provided by the facility
• Available Staffing: Unit Secretary, Charge Nurse, PCA, Core Tech

Responsibilities

The Certified Surgical Technologist will be responsible for:

• Assisting with various procedures including CABG, valve replacements, VAD insertions, TAVR, VATS, lobectomies, pacemaker/AICD insertions, and other cardiovascular surgeries.
• Preparing and maintaining the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Collaborating with surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and effective surgical outcomes.
• Adhering to facility policies and surgical protocols.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Experience: Extensive CVOR experience with at least 2 prior travel assignments is mandatory.
• Preferred Skills: Proficiency in first assist techniques is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
• Must demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Comprehensive unit guidelines and policies will be provided during orientation. This role does not serve as a training facility for medical staff.
