Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry/Neuro Stroke

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Telemetry/Neuro Stroke Unit. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals looking to make a significant impact in patient care within a well-supported setting.

Unit Overview

• Unit Type: Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 15
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4 days, 1:5 nights
• Common Diagnoses: Neuro telemetry with a large stroke population, acute onset seizures, and medical overflow patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a telemetry setting.
• Read and interpret cardiac strips independently.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocol.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in unit orientation and mentoring of new staff as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
• Current certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS.
• Must pass Basic Dysrhythmia exam with a minimum of 83% on the first three attempts.
• Experience in Neuro and Cardiac nursing is highly preferred.

Schedule and Requirements

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: 6 weekend shifts (every other weekend) in a 6-week period.
• Holiday Requirements: 2 major holidays (Eve and Day for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) and 2 minor holidays.
• Will float between multiple locations as needed.
