We are seeking a dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This position is based in a fast-paced telemetry unit, providing high-quality patient care and support. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, particularly in telemetry, and demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care.

Job Details

• Unit: MS/Tele - 4th Floor
• Unit Type: Telemetry
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: Days 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Based on unit needs
• Holiday Requirement: Coverage needed for holidays

Patient Care

This unit specializes in managing patients with various diagnoses, including:

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
• Pneumonia (PNA)
• General Surgical and Medical Telemetry cases

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for telemetry patients, including monitoring vital signs and cardiac rhythms.
• Titrate IV drips for medications such as Heparin and Blood Products as needed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver optimal patient care.
• Read and validate telemetry strips alongside monitor technicians.
• Participate in unit orientation and training as part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with specific telemetry experience required.
• Certifications: Valid BLS certification and WA state or Compact nursing license.
• Skills: Proficient in patient assessment, critical thinking, and effective communication.

Additional Information

• Charge nurses and house supervisors are present for guidance and support.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-6 for RNs and 1:8-16 for nurse aides.
• All RNs may be required to float within their scope of practice based on unit needs.
• Standard uniform: Navy scrubs.
