General Information

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The position involves working in a Med/Surg unit with a focus on providing compassionate care to patients and their families.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Tech support available on both day and night shifts
• Unit Secretary available from 7 AM to 7 PM
• Equipment includes: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Oximetry Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Floating policy: Contract labor staff are the first to float, followed by rotation for on-site staff during high-demand situations

Patient Experience

Candidates are expected to provide attentive and compassionate care, including bedside shift reporting, fostering personal connections with patients, and involving patients and their families in care planning.

Qualifications

• Required Skills: Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitasking, initiating IVs, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes.
• Must have: Active RN license, BLS certification
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS
• Advanced skills needed: Not applicable
• Procedures performed on the unit: Not applicable

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy scrubs for both tops and bottoms.
