Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel position. This role involves providing comprehensive care to obstetrical patients with varying needs in a high-acuity environment.
Key Details
- Location: Dupont, IN
- Shift: Nights - 4x12s, Monday to Thursday, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
- Orientation: 2 shifts
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Number of Beds in Unit: 15
- Floating: Not required
- Block Scheduling: Available
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Labor and Delivery RN includes delivering care to obstetrical patients presenting to the unit for various needs, which may include but are not limited to:
- Preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM)
- Spontaneous rupture of membranes (SROM)
- Rule out labor cases
- Induction of labor (IOL)
- Cesarean deliveries
- Management of pre-eclampsia
- Antepartum concerns
The unit operates as a Level 3 Perinatal Center, overseeing an average of 250+ deliveries each month, requiring a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in Indiana
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- A minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred
