Job Description
The Cardiovascular Technologist - H&V Specialist will provide continuous, comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing invasive cardiology and peripheral angiography procedures. The role requires specialized knowledge and skills in compliance with care standards and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and assess patient needs, recognizing and reporting abnormal data and changes in condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to communicate pertinent patient data.
- Conduct safety assessments for patients, families, and the environment.
- Provide individualized patient and family education in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate critical thinking in reviewing physician orders and making referrals.
- Respond to emergency situations with precision and skill.
- Implement infection control measures and maintain a safe environment.
- Assist in diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cath lab and angiography.
- Set up sterile trays and specialized equipment for procedures.
- Maintain hemostasis post-procedure and manage insertion site complications.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety policies and practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1-2 years of previous experience in the field.
- Good understanding of cardiovascular and peripheral anatomy.
- Responsible for meeting individual education and training requirements.
- Participation in on-call coverage as required.
- High level of professionalism and ability to establish good relationships with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
