Cath Lab Tech Opportunity
Location: Northridge, California
Facility: Northridge Hospital Medical Center
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Cath Lab Tech for a travel contract. Candidates must have:
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Active BLS, ACLS, ARRT certifications
- Valid California license
Certifications Required
- ACLS
- ARRT
- BLS
- PALS (required)
Unit Details
- Unit: Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Number of suites/labs: 4
- Average cases per year: ~1200 (very busy cath lab)
- EMR system: Cerner
- Charge Nurse present
- Cath Lab/IR Tech team available
Call and Shift Requirements
- Weekend call required every other weekend for both RNs and Techs (Friday off shift through Monday 7am)
- Weekday call required approximately 14-15 days per 4-week period for both RNs and Techs
- Holiday call required based on department needs
- Shifts: Variable 8-hour shifts for Techs (possible consideration for 10 or 12-hour shifts)
- Floating: No
- Floor-specific orientation: 1 shift
Equipment and Support
- Telemetry: GE Spacelabs
- Ventilators: No
- Cardiologist on call 24/7
- Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
- Pharmacy available 24/7
- IV Team: No
Common Procedures and Skills Required
- Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Cath Lab procedures (left and right heart interventional and diagnostic, implants, pacers)
- Electrophysiology (EP) studies, diagnostics, ablations (preferred)
- Neuro cases including cerebral aneurysms, thrombectomies, coils (increasing volume)
- Trauma and STEMI cases
Additional Notes
- Travel experience preferred
- Scrub color provided
- 8-hour day shifts with call responsibilities
This role is ideal for Cath Lab Techs with a broad skill set across IR, cath lab, neuro, and EP who are comfortable with a busy, high-volume environment and call requirements.
