Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist
Location: San Francisco, California
Facility: Sutter Health CPMC Van Ness Campus
Hospital System: Sutter Health - MSP
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide technical support to cardiologists, radiologists, and registered nurses in the Interventional Cath Lab.
- Assist in execution and technical analysis of procedures under Cardiologist supervision.
- Perform patient assessments, monitor patients attentively, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- May mentor and train students.
Requirements
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- RCES, CRT, or RCIS certification accepted
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Cath Lab experience; structural heart experience preferred
- ACLS certification required
- Shift: 4 x 10-hour days with 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM start times
- Rotating nights and weekend call required
Certifications & Competencies
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- May require additional certifications depending on position (e.g., PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC)
- Competency Exams:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency Exam with minimum passing score of 80% (or Angoff score if higher)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (may be required)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Sept-April) or signed declination
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
- Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
- Color blindness exam (in-person) if applicable
Background & History Checks
- 7-year background check within 6 months of start
- Sex offender search within 90 days of start
- FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start, then monthly updates
- Employment application with full 7 years of work history, no gaps
- Education verification (highest level achieved)
- Work history verification for up to 7 years, with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Professional references required (Aya requirement, not client)
