Job Description

The Procedural Nurse provides healthcare within the RN scope of practice, utilizing a systematic nursing approach including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsibilities include:

• Delivering competent healthcare to patients and families.
• Ensuring adherence to standards of care and scope of practice.
• Completing accurate and thorough documentation of care.
• Providing health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
• Acting as a preceptor and supporting the development of staff and healthcare students.
• Leading initiatives to improve quality of care and clinical outcomes.
• Assisting Nursing Supervisor/Coordinator with departmental standing orders.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Passion for Oncology.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, comprehension, speaking).
• Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email, web browsing).
• Multicultural sensitivity.
• Strong critical thinking and independent judgment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate facts professionally.
• Professional, friendly, and helpful demeanor.

Education & Licensure

• Required: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing)
• Preferred: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
• Required Certifications:

  • Illinois State RN License in good standing
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification
