Nuclear Medicine Tech - Mercy San Juan Medical Center, Carmichael, CA
Job Overview
- Position: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Nuclear Med Tech)
- Location: Carmichael, California (near Sacramento)
- Facility: Mercy San Juan Medical Center
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 7 days a week; weekdays between 7 AM and 5 PM with rotating weekends
- Work Environment: Radiology - Nuclear Medicine department
- Equipment: 3 GE Nuclear Medicine cameras
- Imaging Focus: Nuclear Medicine studies
Requirements
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- California State certification: CTNM (Certified Technologist Nuclear Medicine)
- One national certification: NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board) or ARRT-N (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Nuclear)
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Additional Information
- No RSO (Radiation Safety Officer) experience required
- Orientation: 3 days of floor-specific orientation
- No weekend-only shifts; rotating weekends required
- No holiday or on-call requirements
- Scrub color: Teal
- Role includes floating as needed within the department
Work Environment & Supervision
- Reports to Radiology Supervisor overseeing Nuclear Medicine and Radiology operations
- Uses Nuclear Medicine/Radiology imaging equipment and EMR systems specific to Nuclear Medicine
