Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Springfield, Illinois
Facility: Springfield Memorial Hospital, Hereford Regional Medical Center

Position Details

• Specialty: Medical Surgical RN
• Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 Days (06:45 AM - 07:15 PM)
• Average Daily Census: 21 patients
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
• First-timers Accepted: Yes
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: No
• Floating: Will float as needed within department scope
• Block Schedule: Open to accommodation
• Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
• License: Must have active Illinois RN license or be in application process with ETA
• Return to Office Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
• Guaranteed Hours: Client may call off up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay for cancelled hours

Required Certifications & Skills

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACLS, PALS may be required based on unit/specialty
• Professional Skills:

  • IV therapy and Phlebotomy experience
  • Blood Product Administration
  • Peripheral Line Care/Management
  • PICC line management
  • Knowledge of Isolation Precautions

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Documentation & Verifications

• Valid US Driver’s License or State ID
• Primary source verification of state license and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS as applicable)
• HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• Competency Exam (clinical/allied candidates)
• Background Check (covering last 7 years, updated annually)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification (degree or transcript)
• References: 2 professional references required for clinical candidates
• Illinois-specific registry and state searches as required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and ability to perform job functions
• Fit mask test (3M masks or PAPR if required)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• TB questionnaire updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required October 1 – April 1)
