Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Facility: Springfield Memorial Hospital, Hereford Regional Medical Center
Position Details
- Specialty: Medical Surgical RN
- Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 Days (06:45 AM - 07:15 PM)
- Average Daily Census: 21 patients
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Will float as needed within department scope
- Block Schedule: Open to accommodation
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
- License: Must have active Illinois RN license or be in application process with ETA
- Return to Office Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
- Guaranteed Hours: Client may call off up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay for cancelled hours
Required Certifications & Skills
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS, PALS may be required based on unit/specialty
- Professional Skills:
- IV therapy and Phlebotomy experience
- Blood Product Administration
- Peripheral Line Care/Management
- PICC line management
- Knowledge of Isolation Precautions

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
Documentation & Verifications
- Valid US Driver’s License or State ID
- Primary source verification of state license and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS as applicable)
- HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Competency Exam (clinical/allied candidates)
- Background Check (covering last 7 years, updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
- Education verification (degree or transcript)
- References: 2 professional references required for clinical candidates
- Illinois-specific registry and state searches as required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and ability to perform job functions
- Fit mask test (3M masks or PAPR if required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required October 1 – April 1)

- Flu vaccine exemption forms if applicable
