Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense approved
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense approved
- CPI (or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) accepted in lieu; MAB must be updated every 2 years)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense approved
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as required
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - may be required for ER
- State Nursing License (Primary Source Verification required)
- NURSYS Verification (for all RNs)
- NIH Stroke Certification (AHA or APEX, updated every 2 years)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)
Required Documents & Verifications
- Proof of I9 or Attestation (E-Verify sensitive)
- Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
- Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
- Background Check: 7-year criminal check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions

Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Physician statement within last 12 months (not required annually)
- Fit Mask: N95 fit test within last year (3M 1870+ or Halyard models); CAPR option available but not preferred
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Vaccine or declination required; must be within 10 years
- Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray: Within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters or declinations accepted with preference for boosters
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, vaccine series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox; boosters or declinations accepted with preference for boosters
- Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant acceptable); facility requires negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) with no declinations accepted; exemptions require facility approval
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete facility-specific forms such as confidentiality agreements, employee health surveys, and new team member records promptly.
- Flu vaccine exemptions require physician-signed forms (no electronic signatures accepted).
- Facility is sensitive about I9/E-Verify documentation; candidates cannot be cleared without these.
- Candidates may complete fit testing on-site during orientation if needed.
- The facility will not provide CPI training on-site; MAB training is accepted instead.
This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses who meet the certification and health requirements and are comfortable with travel/contract assignments in a hospital setting.
