Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medical Technologist
Location: San Francisco, California
Facility: Sutter Health CPMC Van Ness Campus 1100
Hospital System: Sutter Health - MSP
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work with patients scheduled for nuclear medicine imaging procedures.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceutical dosages.
- Operate imaging equipment to scan requested body areas.
- Explain procedures and provide reassurance to patients who may be fearful, nervous, or in pain.
- Maintain imaging equipment and ensure safe operation.
Shift Details
- 3 shifts per week, 8 hours each (Days)
- Hours: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM
- Days: Wednesday to Friday
- No floating, on-call, or weekend requirements
Required Certification
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) certification
Preferred/Additional Certifications (Verify as applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CCRN (Critical Care RN)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- IV Certification (as applicable)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Other specialty certifications as required by position
Competencies (As applicable)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Competency Exam with minimum passing score of 80% (or Angoff score if higher)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (if applicable)

- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 90 days, renewed annually)
- Immunity or vaccination for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination/Documentation (required during flu season Nov 1 - Apr 30)
- Color Blind Exam (in-person exam required)
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (renewed annually)
Background and History Checks
- 7-year Background Check (within 6 months of start) including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, education verification, and more
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks (updated annually)
- References: 2 professional references for clinical/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care (within 3 years)
- Employment Application with full 7 years of work history, no gaps
- Work History Verification (up to 7 years, gaps over 30 days must be explained)
- Education Verification (highest level achieved)
- Sex Offender Search (within 90 days of start)
- FACIS Level 3 screening (within 2 weeks of start, monthly updates required)
- State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., California Medi-Cal Search)
