Description
Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Services Technician (SAMC)
Location: Rockford, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Cath Lab Tech in a cardiac catheterization lab with 6 suites/labs
- Average cases per day: 18
- Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts starting at 7:00 AM or 8:30 AM as assigned
- Call Requirements:
- 4 weekends (Saturday/Sunday) during the 13-week assignment
- Holiday call required
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Floating: May be required to float to Electrophysiology (EP) or Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Orientation: 5 shifts (first week), 8-hour days
- Scrubs provided
Required Certifications & Experience
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- ARRT Certified Radiologic Technologist (RT-R)
- At least 3 years of cath lab experience
- Must be able to scrub and circulate STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction) interventions
- Willingness to learn circulating/monitoring in neuro interventional procedures for call coverage
Job Duties
- Scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating during procedures
- Handling high-risk coronary and neuro cases
- Supporting STEMI interventions
Additional Information
- EMR Systems: Epic and McKesson
- Cardiologist coverage: 24/7
- Supervisor/Charge Nurse available during operating hours (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday)
- Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Drug-free campus policy with mandatory negative drug screen
- Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours (orientation hours do not count toward guaranteed hours)
- Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty
Submission Requirements
- Active Illinois license or proof that application process has started
- Candidate must provide last 4 digits of SSN and middle initial
- Requested time off must be submitted
