Speech-Language Pathologist (Pediatrics) - Urbana, Illinois

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and integrate case history information from patients, families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Select and administer appropriate evaluation procedures tailored to patient needs.
  • Recognize and respect the communication preferences, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of patients and their support systems.
  • Conduct assessments for speech and language pathology, including speech and feeding-related impairments.
  • Administer standardized testing to assess functional levels compared to age-related norms.
  • Assess feeding and swallowing impairments.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care with measurable and achievable goals.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and relevant professionals (including pediatric PT/OT) in treatment planning.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home programs and activities.
  • Complete daily documentation and billing in the therapy electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Fulfill annual clinical ladder requirements for senior status, including student supervision, project completion, and in-service training.

Qualifications

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Illinois
  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Master’s degree in a related field
