Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CVOR) - Travel Position
Location: Waco, Texas

Job Description
- Perform CST duties in Endovascular, Open Heart, and Thoracic specialties.
- Provide coverage and take call for the Hybrid OR (combination of surgical and interventional procedures).
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, with on-call required.
- The Endovascular service line (Hybrid OR) is a growing specialty requiring specialized skills.
Required Certifications & Credentials
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be current (AHA preferred).
- License/Certificate Verification - Current license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Ascension Specialty Exam - Completed prior to first assignment; updated every 3 years; minimum 80% passing score; max 2 attempts.
- Ascension Core Competencies - Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly; minimum 80% score; max 2 attempts.
- Ascension Surgical Technologist Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation - Must be completed prior to clearance.
- Driver’s License/State ID - Must be valid and match address on file; specific rules apply if placement state differs from home state.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR - Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B - Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine - Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- Positive PPD / Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire - Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest X-ray within a year showing no infection, and completed TB questionnaire. Annual updates required.
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) - Required within specified timeframes prior to start; annual updates.
- Varicella - Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap - Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Fit Test - Required annually; preferred prior to start but can be completed onsite (PAPR not done onsite).
Additional Requirements
- Health Statement - Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment; updated annually.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen - Completed within 30 days prior to start; includes testing for 12 specified drugs; updated annually.
- Ascension Skills Checklist - Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start; updated annually.
- Ascension Criminal Background Check Results - Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender check; completed within 30 days prior to start; updated annually.
- Ascension EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) - Run within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension Education Verification - Verification of education relevant to clinical work; completed within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension Employment Verification - Third-party verification for past 7 years; updated annually; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment - Provided upon initial assignment and updated with each extension.
- Ascension 2 Professional References - At least two professional references required prior to first assignment.
- Ascension Profile (Resume or Profile) - Required for submission.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced hybrid OR environment combining surgical and interventional procedures.
- On-call availability is required.
- Must maintain all certifications, licenses, and health requirements current throughout the assignment.
