Travel RN Surgery Position - Fishers, Indiana

Job Summary

• Role: Circulating Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN)
• Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years hospital experience
  • At least 1 year travel nursing experience in a hospital setting
• Schedule:

  • 4 shifts per week, each 10 hours long
  • Shift start times vary depending on OR schedule (between 05:45 and 08:00)
  • Up to 5 weeknight on-call shifts per month (16:30–07:00)
  • 1 weekend on-call shift per month (Saturday 07:00 to Monday 07:00)
  • Holiday on-call shifts required

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Certifications and Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Current RN license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• Pharmacology exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
• Specialty exam in nursing area (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
• Color vision test (updated every 3 years)
• Core competencies training (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated yearly)
• Onboarding education attestation and nursing contract worker onboarding completed prior to start
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (must not be expired and meet address requirements)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive immunity titer (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be done onsite; updated annually)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
• Influenza vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
• TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Two-step PPD or IGRA within 90 days prior to start
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccine doses (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap vaccine valid within last 10 years
• Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually

Professional and Background Verification

• Resume/profile submission required
• At least two professional references prior to first assignment
• Criminal background check including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, and national sex offender registry (completed within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days prior to start
• Education verification within 90 days prior to start
• Employment verification for past 7 years, updated annually
• Confirmation of assignment documentation required upon initial assignment and updates

Additional Requirements

• Forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background (no alterations)
• Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leader within one week of start
• Post-assignment evaluation may be requested

This position requires a highly experienced circulating OR RN with strong travel nursing background, flexibility in shift start times, and readiness for on-call duties including nights, weekends, and holidays. Compliance with extensive credentialing, immunization, and background verification processes is mandatory.
