Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician CVOR (Travel)
Location: Beachwood, Ohio

Job Description
- Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) with call responsibilities including weeknights and weekends.
- When no heart cases are scheduled, staff will support the regular Operating Room (OR), so experience in other OR areas is required.
Required Certifications & Credentials
- BLS (American Heart Association) – Required for clinical positions.
- Permanent Professional License – Must be valid; temporary licenses not accepted.
- MMR – Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol.
- Varicella – Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol.
- Hepatitis B – Proof of full series, partial series, or signed declination.
- Tdap – Proof of vaccination within past 10 years; declinations not accepted.
- COVID-19 Vaccine – Preferred but not required.
- Influenza Vaccine – Required during flu season (Oct-Mar) or approved medical/religious exemption.
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) – Negative test within last 6 months; annual requirement.
- Fit Test – Completed within 1 year prior to start.
- Physical/Health Statement – Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to work without restrictions.
Background & Verification Requirements
- Criminal Background Check – Must be completed within 6 months prior to start; includes SSN trace, county searches, national criminal sweep, and NSO.
- Ohio Fingerprints – Required for Ohio residents (BCI&I check and FBI fingerprint check if living in Ohio less than 5 years).
- Social Security Trace – If not included in background check, to be completed within 1 year prior to start.
- NSO Check – If not included in background check, to be completed within 30 days prior to start.
- OIG Search – Completed within 6 months prior to start.
- SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC Checks – Completed within 6 months prior to start.
- Drug Screen – 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start; instant drug screens not accepted.
- Education Verification – Highest level of education verified; international education requires equivalency.
- Employment Verification – Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party.
- UHS I-9 Attestation – Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- UHS Submission Packet – Resume including education and work history, 2 professional references within last 2 years, and completed job application.
- Driver’s License/State ID – Non-expired, required for submission.
Skills & Competency Requirements
- UHS Skills Checklist – Clinical skill-specific checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (initial hire only).
- UHS Competency Exam – Must score at least 80%, completed within 1 year prior to start.
- UHS Core Competencies – Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics; 80% passing score required; completed within 1 year prior to start.
- UHS Module Completion Certificate – Safety and compliance training modules must be completed prior to clearance.
Additional Information
- Call includes weeknights and weekends.
- Experience in general OR required when not staffing CVOR cases.
- All credentials and verifications must be current and compliant with specified timelines.
- Attestations are generally not accepted unless specifically noted.
- Some immunization boosters require specific timing and documentation protocols.
