Job Description

The RN is responsible for providing professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Care is delivered using the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and available resources within the institution’s philosophy.

Essential Functions

• Perform all unit-specific nursing responsibilities within scope of service.
• Implement procedures and theories related to neuro nursing practice.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for healthcare team use.
• Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs.
• Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions based on ongoing evaluation.
• Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with team members to resolve issues, including private discussions when necessary.
• Provide constructive feedback to peers and collaborate to expand professional knowledge.
• Identify personal learning needs and proactively seek solutions.
• Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years relevant nursing experience.
• ASN degree required; BSN preferred.
• Valid Illinois RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
