Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Setting: Busy acute care hospital (ICU and trauma care primary work environment)
Shift: 3 x 12 hour night shifts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

• Credentials:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Massachusetts license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
• Experience/Skills:

  • Experience with Hamilton ventilators preferred
  • EPIC documentation experience preferred

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Vaccinations and Tests:

  • BLS certification (AHA preferred)
  • N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no religious exemptions)
  • Documentation of MMR immunity (vaccines or blood test)
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions
  • TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
• Additional Health Documentation:

  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (part of Fit Test record)
  • If positive TB test, chest x-ray showing no active tuberculosis recommended

Professional and Background Checks

• Submission of a recent color photo (taken within past 6 months, plain background, no glasses) required for onboarding
• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry
• Social Security Number trace covering last 7 years
• Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists
• Education verification of highest degree achieved
• Submission of a detailed resume covering past 7 years of work experience (including city and state)
• Two recent professional references (minimum one supervisor or above)
• Completion of skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required

Notes

• All documentation must be current and updated as required if there is a break in service longer than 6 months
• No religious or medical exemptions allowed for flu vaccine or N95 fit testing
• Fit testing cannot be performed onsite; must be completed prior to start date

This position is ideal for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with ICU/trauma experience, holding current Massachusetts licensure and credentials, who is comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment.
