Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech (EchoSonographer)
Location: Johnstown, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Overview
- Level 1 Trauma Center
- Tertiary care regional referral hospital with advanced technology
- Specialized services include Cardiology, Critical Care, Imaging, Maternity Care, Orthopedics, Stroke Care, Trauma Services, Women’s Health, and more
- 140 beds
- Uses EPIC electronic health record system
- Equipment includes GE 90-95 ultrasound machines
Position Details
- Department: Cardiac Diagnostic Lab Echo Department
- Role: EchoSonographer (Adult Echo specialty)
- Number of Openings: 2
- Shift Options: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: 40 guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: On call every 4th weekend
- Call Requirements: Rotate with staff, usually 1-2 times per week
- Float Requirements: None
Required Qualifications
- Certifications:
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in Adult Echo
- Must have skills in:
- Adult Echo
- Stress Echo
- Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
- Preferred experience with:
- Pediatric echo
- TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
- Watchman device procedures
- Education: Registered in Echo
Work Environment & Culture
- Patient Population: Adult primarily, with some pediatric cases optional
- Patient Diagnoses Commonly Encountered: Chest pain, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Dress Code:
- Scrubs of any color (must be clean)
- No open-toe shoes or t-shirts
- Nails must be neatly kept
- Personality Fit: Team player who gets along well with others
Additional Requirements
- Must complete all required Pennsylvania clearances and fingerprinting prior to start, including:
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- Department of Human Services Fingerprinting
- FBI fingerprinting (within last 2 years or new)
- PA State Police Clearance (PATCH)
