Job Opportunity: RN Oncology (Travel)
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Care for medical, oncology, and end-of-life patients.
- Chemotherapy education through ONS preferred but not required.
- Only nurses experienced in chemotherapy administration will be expected to administer chemotherapy.
Required Credentials & Compliance
Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (AHA required)
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start (disciplinary actions require FACIS Questionnaire).
- Current nursing license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Driver's License/State ID (must be valid, match address requirements).
Exams & Testing
- Pharmacology Exam (Ascension Pharmacology Exam): Must be completed prior to start, updated every 3 years, minimum 80% score, max 2 attempts.
- Specialty Exam (Ascension Specialty Exam): Completed prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years, minimum 80% or national benchmark, max 2 attempts.
- Color Vision Test: Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
- Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly, minimum 80% score, max 2 attempts.
- Cerner Test-Out: Required prior to start.
- Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually or if break in service > 90 days. Must include all 12 drugs tested with MRO review if applicable.
Health & Immunizations
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31). Exemptions accepted but mask required at all times.
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Positive PPD/Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire: Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest X-ray within a year, and completed TB questionnaire.
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA: Required within 1 year and 30 days of start.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred prior to start, updated annually.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
Onboarding & Professional Requirements
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire education).
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite).
- Ascension Nova StatStrip (pre-hire modules for non-allied positions).
- Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
- Ascension Profile: Resume or professional profile required.
- Ascension 2 Professional References: At least two professional references prior to first assignment.
- Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other checks within 30 days of first assignment; updated annually or if break in service > 90 days.
- EPLS Check: Within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Education Verification: Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past 7 years; updated annually or if break in service > 90 days.
- Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions.
Additional Information
- Flu season mask policy applies from October 1, 2024, through March 31, 2025.
- Candidates with exemptions or declinations for flu vaccine must wear a mask at all times during flu season.
- Chemotherapy administration is expected only for those with experience.
